Four King’s College Prep pupils were given a memorable and inspiring experience today as they attended the Sponsor Day at Somerset County Cricket Club.
Milla, Matilda, Kai and Zac had the unique opportunity to represent the Prep School and spend time in a professional cricketing environment. The day was made even more special by the chance to meet King’s sponsored players Erin Vukusic, Tom Banton and James Rew, all former pupils of King’s, who proved to be familiar and inspiring figures for the pupils.
Throughout the day, the players spent time with the pupils, joining them for activities and sharing their experiences. This included a lively quiz, in which the King’s Prep team performed brilliantly, finishing in a very impressive second place, missing out on the top spot by just half a point.
Pupils and players also enjoyed lunch together, providing a relaxed opportunity for conversation and further inspiration.
One of the highlights of the day came with shirt signings and photographs, giving pupils lasting memories and the chance to spend time one-to-one with their role models.
The day proved to be a fantastic opportunity for the pupils to see first-hand what can be achieved through dedication and passion. Meeting former King’s pupils who have successfully progressed to professional cricket was particularly inspiring, reinforcing the strong sporting heritage of the College.
It was, without doubt, a special day for Milla, Matilda, Kai and Zac, one that will motivate them as they continue to develop their own sporting journeys and aspire to follow in the footsteps of those who came before them.
