King’s Pupils Shine on the Hockey Stage This Summer

At the U14 Mercia Cup, Alba, Clemmie and James S were selected to represent the West Panthers, competing against top regional talent from across England. James enjoyed a particularly successful tournament, helping his side progress all the way to the final. After a fiercely contested match, the team narrowly missed out on the title, returning home with an impressive silver medal.

Alba and Clemmie also produced strong performances throughout the competition, playing a key role in their team’s campaign as the West Panthers secured a highly respectable fourth-place finish.

There was further success in the U16 Mercia Cup, where Lucia and Katie demonstrated determination and skill throughout the weekend. The pair helped their team reach the semi-finals before producing an excellent performance to secure a place in the final. Following another closely fought contest, they finished as runners-up, claiming silver medals and capping off a memorable tournament.

Adding to an already impressive summer, Alba has recently returned from Belfast, where she represented the UK Lions, gaining valuable experience competing at an even higher level and continuing her development as one of the school’s promising young hockey players.
