We are excited to share the fantastic news that Thomas R, has signed his first rookie contract with Somerset County Cricket Club. This significant milestone marks the beginning of an exciting journey for Thomas.
Balancing Cricket and Academics at King’s College
Thomas made his First XI debut for Somerset earlier this season in the Vitality Blast, has committed to a contract that will run from November 1st until at least the end of October 2027. The first year of this contract will be carried out in conjunction with his studies here at King’s College to ensure that Thomas’s cricket and academic programme are optimally aligned.
A Journey Through the Somerset Pathway
Thomas’s journey to this point has been remarkable. He progressed through the Somerset Emerging Player Programme and made his Second XI debut for the club in 2023. His leadership skills were recognised when he captained the England Under 19s. Earlier this summer, he was named in the PCC Select XI for their match against Zimbabwe, where he scored an unbeaten century in the second innings.
We are incredibly proud of Thomas’s achievements and look forward to supporting him as he continues to excel both on and off the field.
