We are delighted to announce the appointment of former Somerset wicket-keeper Rob Turner to our teaching staff, who started at the beginning of the summer term of 2025.
Rob has taken up a full-time position, teaching maths from Year 9 through to Year 13 as well as being involved with the cricket.
After retiring from professional cricket Rob, who is a graduate of Magdalene College Cambridge where he played in the Varsity side each year between 1988 and 91, before beginning his teaching career.
The former Somerset and England A wicket-keeper will bring additional depth and expertise on the cricketing front where he will link up with the Director of Sport, Head of Cricket Rob Woodman and Cricket Professional Keith Parsons who have all played cricket professionally.
Regarding his appointment, Rob said: “I am really delighted to be appointed as a teacher at King’s. Summer is a lovely time to start, it is the beginning of the cricket season and that is a great way to get to know the pupils, as well as in the classroom.”
He added: “Having been involved with Prep sport for many years whenever I have taken cricket and hockey teams to King’s I have always enjoyed the atmosphere and the warmth and friendliness of the welcome that has been shown towards visiting teams, so I’m now very much looking forward to being part of that.”
