We are delighted to announce that our Year 6 pupils have officially taken part in a world record-breaking event!
During National Poetry Day 2024, they joined schools from around the world in the largest ‘live poetry lesson online’, making history with their love of language and creativity.
The event, which took place last term, was an opportunity for pupils to engage with poetry on a global scale, celebrating the power of words and the joy of creative expression. We are proud to say that Year 6 certainly made their mark on the event.
After careful verification, the adjudicator has now confirmed that the record has been successfully achieved, making our pupils official world record holders!
Taking part in this event wasn’t just about setting a record, it was about inspiring a love for poetry and encouraging our pupils to think creatively, express themselves, and engage with literature in a dynamic way. Poetry helps develop language skills, confidence, and emotional expression, and this event provided an unforgettable experience for our young writers.
A printed certificate will soon be available for those who wish to purchase one, a wonderful keepsake to mark this special moment. We couldn’t be prouder of our Year 6 pupils for their enthusiasm and participation in this global achievement.
Stay tuned for more details, and visit the official website for verification updates.
Congratulations, Year 6, you are world record holders!
