To mark El Día de la Hispanidad, the National Day of the Hispanic World, Spanish-speaking pupils and those studying Spanish at GCSE and A Level were treated to a vibrant and culturally enriching flamenco session, spotlighting the traditional Sevillanas dance. The session, held in celebration of Hispanic heritage, brought language learning to life.
Led by flamenco dancer and teacher Karina Gracia, the session introduced pupils to the expressive art of Sevillanas, a style of flamenco originating from Seville. With its lively footwork, graceful arm movements, and energy, Sevillanas offered pupils a unique opportunity to engage with Spanish culture beyond the classroom.
Karina’s expert guidance and enthusiasm created an inclusive and dynamic atmosphere, allowing pupils of all dance abilities to participate. The session not only deepened their appreciation for Spanish traditions but also reinforced the cultural context of their language studies.
As part of the King’s commitment to immersive learning, the flamenco session was a resounding success, leaving pupils inspired and more connected to the rich tapestry of Hispanic culture.
