Year 8 pupils at King’s College Prep recently enjoyed an unforgettable week-long residential trip to Okehampton, marking a fantastic conclusion to their final year at Prep school. This annual tradition is eagerly anticipated by pupils and staff alike, and this year’s trip did not disappoint.
An Adventurous Week in Okehampton
The week was packed with a variety of thrilling activities designed to challenge and encourage a sense of adventure, fun, and teamwork. Amongst the highlights was the King’s Loop Run, usually set up each week on Friday afternoon around the beautiful school fields, this time run for the final time through the forest trails of Okehampton, seeing pupils test their endurance and determination. The climbing wall sessions were also a firm favorite and saw brave pupils conquering their fears and scaling high walls with confidence and skill.
Water Adventures
Alongside exhilarating land-based activities the children also enjoyed a number of water-based activities, with kayaking and rafting sessions seeing the thrill seeking group navigate the serene waters of Okehampton, honing their paddling techniques and enjoying the beautiful natural surroundings.
The activities didn’t end there, for those seeking even more excitement, axe throwing provided even more laughter and fun.
Throughout the week, the emphasis was on building teamwork and camaraderie. Pupils worked together, supported each other, and celebrated their achievements. The trip was not only a celebration of their time at the Prep but also preparation for the new challenges and adventures that lie ahead in their educational journey.
The Year 8 Okehampton trip has once again proven to be a resounding success, and we wish them all the best of luck on their journey to King’s College.
