Earlier this month over 50 pupils from Years 5 and 6 enjoyed a boarding taster stay, a much anticipated evening that offered many their very first experience of boarding life and a night away from home.
Many pupils arrived early to school, clutching oversized soft toys and overnight bags, their excitement levels for the evening ahead impossible to hide. After school, pupils settled in for an evening of fun and freedom.
Supper was a huge hit, pizza and chocolate fudge cake, followed by a little bit of tuck. With the sun shining, the children couldn’t wait to dash outside, they spent the early evening playing in the school woods and on the adventure playground, their laughter could be heard from quite the distance.
Later that evening the boarding house came to life, pupils played games of Twister, Uno, air hockey, and ping pong followed by a film with toast and fruit.
The atmosphere was nothing short of magical and every child embraced the experience with such positivity and impeccable behaviour. It was a joy to see them so fully engaged in the boarding experience, and we haven’t stopped hearing about it since!
