Netball at King's is an enthusiastically-led major game. We run successful senior and junior sides, and cater for players of all year groups and abilities.
Our training sessions are run by passionate coaches, made up of teachers, support staff and outside coaches. The external coaches support both the juniors and seniors once a week.
On a Tuesday and Thursday we offer structured and comprehensive skills training, fitness drills and match practice. On a Wednesday and Saturday the competitive sides have either matches or match training. In addition we run 1:1 technique sessions, shooting workshops and girls' only gym sessions, with individualised strength and conditioning programmes.
In the Michaelmas Term, we run pre-season training at least once a week for our senior 1st and 2nd teams as well as the U14 A team.
We have qualified umpires and Level 1 and 2 qualified coaches, and fully support and encourage an annual training programme to keep our coaches up-to-date with changes within the game.
We also had outstanding facilities including five side-by-side netball courts and a dome cover that provides a specialised all-weather netball training facility.
Local and International Fixtures
There are five senior teams and U14 and U15 A, B, C and D teams, and we play approximately 11 block fixtures in the season.
Our teams enter local tournaments as well as the National Independent School competition, and for the last four years our senior girls have consistently made it through to the regionals at both U19 and U16 levels.
Overseas tours have been a regular feature and within the last ten years we have been to Singapore, Malaysia, Barbados, South Africa and Jamaica. In addition to this we host touring sides, most recently the Dragons netball team from Westminster School in Adelaide.
