During the Summer Term, pupils from Years 3 to Year 8 play tennis in PE lessons on six astro turf pitches and four hard courts enclosed in the former walled garden, and children can use these courts in their break times and in games sessions.
Regular fixtures are played by our girls' Under 13 and Under 12 pairs against other prep schools. They also enter into the AEGON Under 13 Team Tennis competition for both boys and girls where we have enjoyed much success and hotly contested matches over the past few years. Girls' Under 10 and Under 11 pairs are also encouraged to play matches against local schools once they are capable.
For the younger pupils from Year 1 to Year 4, short tennis coaching is available all year round by keen and well qualified coaches, either in our Sports Hall or on the outdoor courts during the Summer Term. For those more enthusiastic about the sport, Blackbrook Tennis Centre in Taunton provides additional specialist coaching.
Tennis is a developing sport at King's Hall. We offer lunch time sessions from Pre-Prep right through to Year 8, and then onto King's College. During the winter months we train outdoors when possible, but if this is not possible, we can adapt the sessions and move into our Sports Hall.
