Co-curricular
HOBBIES AND ACTIVITIES
We believe that a child’s learning goes beyond the classroom and children benefit from the development of their own specific interests and skills.
To supplement such growth, we offer a wide range of co-curricular activities led by enthusiastic staff.
We have a vast and varied array of sessions that bring a lot of joy to the pupils. Importantly, great emphasis is put on ensuring that our pupils enjoy a healthy outdoor life to support the academic school curriculum.

Our co-curricular sessions aim to enable every pupil to broaden their interests and promote self-confidence and self-belief.
Through learning opportunities outside the classroom, we aim to raise achievement and create aspirations through an organised, powerful approach to learning.
Examples of hobbies and activities include football, climbing, choir, swimming and cookery. We have also offered mountain biking, pentathlon, archery, squash and chess. Our hobbies provision varies each school year.
Hobbies are offered after school from 4:45pm-5:30pm and Saturday morning activities run from 9:30am-12pm. Children can make the most of our fantastic facilities across both the Prep and Senior sites.

EQUESTRIAN CENTRE
Having our own Equestrian Centre so close to the College site is a wonderful privilege.
This unique asset brings a range of benefits for our pupils, from beginners to advanced riders. Here, our BHS-approved professional coaches help pupils to foster a love of horses and equestrian sports alike.
PUPIL COUNCIL
The King’s College Prep Pupil Council is a formal group of pupils who have been elected by their peers to represent them and their views. The group is overseen by Pupil Council Coordinator Karen Foster, and regularly meets to discuss fundraising ideas and important school issues.
Over the past year, pupils have worked hard on a number of fundraising campaigns, each of which have been highly successful. In September 2018, the Council organised for all Year 6 pupils to wear their finest denim in support of the nationwide Jeans for Genes campaign. Not long after, and proving that actions speak louder than words, the group helped to organise a major fundraising campaign in aid of Bristol Children’s Hospital. Most recently, the whole school community joined forces for two charity park runs in aid of the WESC foundation, a specialist day and residential centre for adults and young people living with visual impairment.
