Hobbies at King's College Prep

Here at King’s Hall, children receive the best education to help them succeed in academic life and to prepare them for senior school. Whilst this is, of course, important, we also believe that a child’s learning goes beyond the classroom and that children benefit from the development of their own specific interests and skills. To supplement such growth, we offer and a wide range of co-curricular activities led by our enthusiastic staff.

Hobbies are offered both after school and on Saturday mornings. Children have the opportunity to make the most of our own fantastic facilities as well as those at King’s College, and are also able to enjoy the beautiful surrounding countryside.

Something for everyone

We offer a vast and varied array of sport and activities. Importantly, great emphasis is put on ensuring that our pupils enjoy a healthy outdoor life to balance the academic and creative areas of the school curriculum.

Recent hobbies include abseiling, choir, cookery, craft club, drama, dry-slope skiing, forensic science club, girls' football, hill walking, mountain biking, sports clinics, squash and tennis. The aim of our activities is to allow each and every pupil to find their niche, widen their interest and to promote self-confidence and self-belief.

Beyond the classroom

At King’s Hall, our vision is to enable every young person to experience the world beyond the classroom as an essential part of their learning and personal development. Through learning opportunities outside the classroom, we aim to raise achievement and create aspirations through an organised, powerful approach to learning.

This is not only about what we learn but importantly how and where we learn and what development takes place. We want the children in our care to be healthy, stay safe, enjoy and achieve, make a positive contribution to a group and to develop aspirations that will lead to achieving future well-being.
