Our Development Office – Supporting and Enhancing King's

The aim of our Development Office is to foster goodwill in the wider King’s community and to support, through fundraising activities, the strategic plan of both schools.  Schools like King's up and down the country all have an office dedicated to fundraising, philanthropy and development, and while they may be focused on working primarily with a hugely supportive collective of former pupils, in our case, OAs, they always have their eyes firmly on the future ... on the very development of our schools.

Phillip Rothwell joined King’s College in August 2023. In his role as Director of Development, Phillip oversees the strategy for engagement and fundraising with our school community of OAs, parents and friends. Phillip’s aim is to ensure that all pupils benefit from the best possible facilities while at King’s College, and to help provide access to deserving pupils from all backgrounds.

Brenda Worth has worked for King's for several years and is our dedicated Development Manager. She wears many hats and not only manages events and all manner of duties for our OA Club, she is also responsible for overseeing the adminstration of our 1880 Club, all fundraising, including our Capital Campaigns, our Annual Fund, Bursaries and Legacies and our Beyond King's online alumni platform. Scroll through our areas of work below to find out more.

If you would like to discuss the schools' development plan with Brenda please call 01823 328184 or email BJWorth@kings-taunton.co.uk.

OAs are always welcome to return to King’s. By making a prior arrangement we can tailor your visit to ensure you get the most out of your time with us.

Our Development Office Oversees the Following

What Happens to your Money?

Your money will go towards a variety of different projects across all areas of school life, and will therefore be of benefit to all the members of the King's College community. However you choose to donate – be this through the gift of a legacy or through our 1880 Club Enhancing King's Fund – you can decide whether you would like to specify where your money is directed, or whether you are happy for the school to use it where it is needed most. If you are a UK tax payer, using Gift Aid means that for every £1 you give, King's Schools can reclaim 25p from HMRC, helping your donation go further.
