A week with global events so unfathomable that life in school has offered some respite and a source of hope.

World Book Day was a school highlight as across all ages the engagement was terrific and you will read more about it later in the Newsletter.  There’s always so much collective joy and reward that comes from shared projects and whole school events.

We’ll have a few whole school events linked to a whole nation event next term as some ideas we have about the Platinum Jubilee germinate.  Germination will be part of it as I heard from Rog, the groundsman, that he has been successful in his application to procure a Jubilee Superbloom for here from the Tower of London who are preparing something spectacular within the moat of the Tower. Sounds beautiful.

Another whole Prep event lies on the final afternoon of this term with the House Music competition.  This fun event has been announced to the children and each House knows its group song following a tombola style draw in Monday’s assembly.  The theme is Musicals and so you will be able to enjoy four brilliant renditions on Fri 25 March.  There is also a Junior and Senior competition, a guest judge and a sense of excitement about the impending holidays to add into the mix so I hope you have it locked in your diaries.

Fingers crossed this warm Spring sunshine pops out a little more for the rest of this term – starting with this weekend!
