Popular King's Loop Now at King's College
Over at our prep school, King's Hall, there is a very popular cross-country running route called The King's Loop. Making the most of the stunning grounds and woodland up there, the route is a firm favourite with pupils and staff alike, who often fit in a run into their lunchtimes.
Brainchild of King's Hall Director of Sport, Ali Halls, the increase in pupils getting involved in running has been fantastic, with everyone enjoying the fresh air and a chance to get outdoors.
We're delighted to announce that King's College now has its very own loop. Following closely our steeplechase route, the circuit encompasses our sports fields and the lovely wooded path at the bottom of the grounds by the stream. Just two laps, and you have completed the new King's Loop.
Commenting, our Director of Sport, Phil Lewis, said: "The success of the loop at King's Hall has been fabulous. So, we have tried to emulate Ali's excellent idea here at the College. The aim is to encourage our pupils to engage in running a little more and to so do in a fun, but competitive way. At present our timetable and lunchtime restrictions don't quite allow for the same flexibility that King's Hall has. So, as an alternative way for the pupils and staff to clock their laps, we are running it online using Strava and Mapmyrun.com."
We look forward to seeing more people out running around the loop, making the most our wonderful site.
