HORRIBLE HISTORY: A MURDER MYSTERY!
Event Date: Friday 24 April
Event Times: 7pm
Event Description:
It is that time of year again… when our mighty Drama and Performing Arts Scholars step into the spotlight and present a play like no other!
This year, we are returning to our beloved murder‑mystery format, and trust me, we will absolutely need your help to uncover whodunnit.
Prepare to be transported back in time… a very long time ago! In true creative chaos, we’ve decided to mix our centuries and bring together an assortment of iconic historical characters who definitely never should have met but absolutely will.
We were incredibly fortunate to welcome a writer from the brilliant CBBC Horrible Histories team, who worked with our scholars to help them craft their own gloriously silly, sharply comic, historically‑questionable style of theatre. Think chaos. Think comedy. Think pure joy.
The evening will begin with a performance and most likely a dramatic murder!
Then we will head off on a promenade-style adventure around campus, meeting suspects, clues, and a worrying number of suspiciously cheerful characters. The evening concludes in the Dining Hall for a delicious medieval-inspired feast, featuring:
- the culinary wonders of “corn of the mare” (don’t worry, it tastes much better than it sounds),
- roasted roots of the earth,
- a fine assortment of fruits and pears,
- and, of course, wine to keep spirits high and sleuthing skills sharp.
A true ancient banquet worthy of kings, queens, peasants, and perplexed detectives alike!
