Alasdair Millar left Kings College in 1972. After university he was general dental practitioner for thirty years in Taunton and latterly a Postgraduate Programme Director for the University of Bristol, Dental Postgraduate Dean for the South West of England, and past President of the British Dental Association. Alasdair was the first dentist in the UK to be assessed as a Fellow of the Academy of Medical Education. A guest lecturer at over 10 universities in the UK, he has also published over thirty peer reviewed papers and book chapters.
Alasdair has held non-executive director posts with more than ten organisations over the past thirty years and now, amongst other roles, is a non-executive director of the Lloyd & Whyte insurance broking group. He is also a life and executive coach, an associate with Synergy Global and Entrusted Consulting and a guest Fellow of the Society of Leadership Fellows of St George’s House Windsor.
Outside work Alasdair enjoys sailing, skiing (when Covid restrivctions permit), running and plays his saxophone (not very well).
