Girls Tennis v Clifton

This was a fantastic afternoon of tennis, dominating against strong opposition, and winning eight out of our nine matches. The 1st VI were level-pegging going into the final round of matches, with windy conditions testing the girls' mental strength. But good wins from our first and third pair allowed us to pull away eventually for a comfortable 7-2 win. The 2nds dominated throughout in their 9-0 win, dropping only nine games all afternoon!

It was another strong performance from the 3rds in their 7-2 win. Harriet Butterfield and Caroline Lloyd proved to be the leading partnership, dropping only four games. And it was an emphatic win for the 4ths, securing victory by 9-0, and losing only seven games. Hattie Clarke and Rosie Dunningham were the leading pair (6-0, 6-0, 6-0), closely followed by Hollie Bell and Elle Domellof who dropped just one single game.

Superb play by Tory Clark and Charlotte Palmer saw the Under 15s through to a 6-3 win. They read each other's positioning well, and played aggressive and determined tennis. And it was an excellent performance too from the Bs, who dropped only one set on a tie-break in their 8-1 victory.

The Under 14s recorded an excellent first home win, with great play and enthusiasm from all the players. Flora Evans and Charlotte Dathan communicated well and played great strokes from front and back of the court. The Bs though had a disappointing afternoon against strong opposition. It was a good effort though, and all the girls enjoyed themselves, despite tough windy conditions.
