Girls Tennis v Canford
Holly Domellof had to retire from the 1st VI fixture due to a shoulder injury, but Alex Taylor went on to play some singles, and did superbly, winning two out of her three matches. Hatti Mason made her debut for the 1sts playing with Kathleen Sondern, and had a fine win over Canford's first pair. Louise Webber and Jodie Burrows played some brilliant tennis, and kept the crowd entertained with a thrilling tie break. The final score for the doubles matches was 3-3, with King's winning more games (30-26).A severely weakened 2nds found the going tough, though Hollie Bell and Elle Domelloff took many of their games to deuce. The 3rds were similarly under-strength, but games were played in good spirits and enjoyed by all. In the 4ths, Olivia Farmer played well in her first game for the school this year, and some tightly-fought rallies were played.
The Under 15s produced some of their most competitive tennis of the season. Tory Clark was outstanding with her power and range of shots. The Bs pulled off a famous victory, and yet again Hennie Thomson and Megan Ameye went right through the afternoon without losing a set. A determined performance by the Cs saw both pairs taking a set off Canford.
The Under 14s found themselves in a very tough fixture, though Charlie Webb and Melissa McFarlane rose to the challenge, and all the girls played with determination throughout. The Bs produced some fantastic rallies, but Canford deserved their win.
