Cricket v Queen's
The heavy rain took its toll this Saturday, with only four out of the six matches possible, and of them only two were completed. The 1st XI marched on with a ten-wicket victory. Queen's were bowled out for 107, thanks to some disciplined bowling from our attack. Charlie Morris was the pick of the bowlers, taking 3 for 10 off six overs. We passed their score after only twelve overs, thanks to some brutal hitting by Jos Buttler (87 off 46 deliveries), and he was well supported by Alex Barrow who scored 22 off 26 balls. This is the second consecutive year that our 1st XI has beaten Queen's by ten wickets.
The only other match to be completed was the Under 14 Bs. Queen's were bowled out for 63, thanks to a fine spell from man of the match Corbett Sykes-Moore who took 5 for 12. There were a few nervous moments as we wobbled at 11 for 5 after three overs, but Tom Counsell played a captain's innings to guide us to victory.
