Ten Tors Challenge
In stark contrast to the torrential rain of twelve months ago, this year's Ten Tors Challenge took place in glorious sunshine and sweltering temperatures. It was a hugely successful weekend for King's, with all three teams completing their course in excellent times.Tackling the 35-mile challenge was a team of 4th formers: Henry Close, Tom Sharp, Tom Drysdale, Olivia Taylor, Chris Griffiths and George Hall. Tom Dunham, Chris Morris, Tom Walters, Grant Little, Charlie Marr and Tom Le Gallais, all successfully completed the demanding 45-mile route. Taking on the mighty 55-mile challenge were Elle Marr, Martin Zacherl, Henry Cunningham, Michael Ellis, Henry Potter and Sam Warren.
Ron Mason, our Ten Tors co-ordinator, said "It was a massive team effort in extremely hot conditions. Credit goes to all the participants, and of course the staff who did so much in the background to make the weekend so successful. Many thanks too to the Headmaster for his support - he must be the first King's Head to spend the first night of Ten Tors actually under canvas on Dartmoor!"
