Glowing report from OFSTED
King's came through their recent OFSTED inspection of their boarding provision with flying colours. Inspectors labelled as "outstanding" our ability to help children to achieve well and enjoy what they do. It was noted that an extremely wide range of recreational activities is offered to all pupils, including a multitude of sports, performing and creative arts. Also outstanding were our achievements in helping children to be healthy, which refers to the level of health care available to pupils, including medical care and food. It was noted in the report that we offer healthy, nutritious meals with a wide range of choices available to pupils.
Overall, we achieved a mixture of "outstanding" and "good" in every aspect of our boarding life, where outstanding refers to "exceptionally high quality" and good refers to "strong". The report concluded: "Particular strengths include clear leadership, outstanding health care, good standards of safety and a wide range of recreational activities".
Headmaster Richard Biggs was delighted with the inspectors' findings, and said "The facilities and standards of pastoral care at King's are amongst the best in the country and I am delighted that OFSTED have recognised the excellence of our boarding provision.”
