Boys Tennis v Blundell's

This was an excellent first match for the
1st VI, and there was some promising play throughout against a good Blundell's side. The first pair consisting of Matt Butterfield and Ben Taylor dominated until the last match, when they were narrowly beaten. Michael Ellis and Charlie Marr played good hard tennis all afternoon, and Ricco Yeung and Tom Lau managed to secure a draw against their opposite numbers. Overall it was a good game, with many valuable lessons learnt.

It was a brand new 2nds that took to the court, and thanks to the solid pairing of Jon Pitcher and Harry Lang, the team managed to gain some valuable wins. A good effort on the whole from everyone. It was a mixed set of results for the newly formed pairings of the Under 16 and Under 15 teams. The players learned a lot from the afternoon, as many of them are new to tennis, but they showed that they are capable of some good wins.
