Junior Colts win Twenty20 Cup

The Junior Colts beat Heathfield School to become winners of the Somerset Daily Telegraph National Schools Under 15 Twenty20 Cup. Having beaten Millfield earlier in the week in a fantastic independent schools' final, we knew we would have to play well against whoever we would meet in the final. The only team we have lost to all team is Castle School, and Heathfield had already beaten them, so it was always going to be a tough match.

We bowled intelligently and fielded superbly to restrict them to 34 off the first ten overs. Our game plan was working perfectly, and field placings were excellent. Some strong aggressive batting enabled Heath field to accelerate in the second half of their innings, and they managed to reach 102 eventually.

Alex Barrow and Miles Lenygon got us off to a solid start, but George Lock was the star of the show with a really well thought out 41, exceptionally well supported by Will Hardwick. This was a fantastic team performance, and an excellent reward for a lot of hard work.
