Girls Tennis v Wellington
The 1st VI had a very frustrating afternoon against opponents who doggedly got everything back into court. As a result we simply made too many unforced errors. A great team performance though by the 2nds resulted in a 6-3 win, with all pairs winning two from three sets. Annabel John stepped up to first pair from the 3rds and made an impressive debut. The 3rds enjoyed a comfortable win, showing our great strength in depth. Playing her first senior fixture, Rebecca Turner partnered Hattie Clarke in a clean sweep of three victories. The Under 15s played their fixture as the first round of the BSTA competition and ran out comfortable 5-1 winners. Alex Taylor completed a stunning 6-0 singles win, Jodie Burrows dropped only one game in her singles, and Hattie Cunningham only two. Jodie and Hattie went on to take their doubles to love. The Bs dropped only four games all afternoon in an impressive whitewash. Charis Elphinstone and Isabel Petri took all their sets to love, and Caroline Lloyd and Harriet Butterfield dropped only game against their first pair.
The Under 14s dug out their first victory of the season in a really competitive fixture, in which Jossie Zilkha and Elle-Louise Domellof dropped only three games and beat their equivalent pair to love. Hattie Mason and Milla Bell took two of their three sets, winning both in a tie-break.
