Cricket v Wells Cathedral School
The 2nd XI played Wells' 1st XI in a short 25-over game, played very much in the spirit of 20/20. Ben de Figueiredo and Ali Klinkenberg were the pick of the batsmen, while Henry Potter added a rapid 25 in typical fashion on the way to a total of 155 for 8. A fiery opening spell by Jamie Findlay set the tone of their innings, and Duncan Rosewarn sealed their fate with 5 for 10. The 3rds played Wells' 2nds, who were bowled out for 84, Gavin Penn and Richard Morris the stand-out bowlers, with two smart run-outs and an excellent stumping by Jack Graham. Tim Foden (35 not out) and Ian Hargreaves (23) batted with authority to see King's home by 7 wickets with 19 overs to spare.
Playing against Wells' As, the Junior Colt Bs bowled the opposition out for 101, with Ollie Jones taking 3 for 9, and Archie Berrow narrowly missing out on a hat-trick. Good contributions from Tom Garwood, Ross Wright and Toby Barnes Yallowley set the stage for man of the match Ollie Jones to crash two fours in two balls to win the match.
The Under 14s bowled Wells out for 41, Milo Reynolds leading the way with three wickets. King's lost early wickets before skipper Taylor Buller and George Wayman took control to see us comfortably home by 6 wickets.
