Evensong in Truro Cathedral

The Choir were off to Truro Cathedral to sing Evensong in the second week of the summer term. Many outstanding King's musicians in the past have started out in the choir stalls of Truro Cathedral, so it was good to make contact again with so many old friends.

The 60-strong choir travelled with Director of Music Colin Albery, his assistant Karen Fergusson, and college organist Jim Campbell. They sang psalms 98 and 118 (vv 12-29), and the setting of the Magnificat and Nunc Dimittis was Herbert Howells' Collegium Regale. The anthem was that standard of Victorian English Choral Music, Evening Hymn by Balfour Gardiner.
