King's Schools, Taunton

Commencing 9 July 2020

Located in the heart of the British countryside, King’s Schools, Taunton provides continuous day and boarding education for girls and boys aged 2 to 18 years. It comprises King’s Hall School which has approximately 300 children from 2 to 13 and King’s College which has approximately 460 pupils from 13 to 18. Both schools provide inspired teaching, superb facilities, and our nurturing of individual potential combine to create an environment in which young people achieve great things.

Taunton is a large regional town in Somerset. The town is home to Somerset County Cricket and sits close to a range of stunning landscapes, from cattle-grazed meadows in the Somerset Levels, to the windswept Quantock Hills that afford views of the coast.

With excellent transport links, London is only two hours by train, and Bristol and Exeter international airports can both be reached in approximately 40 minutes by car.

Summer Language Courses

Summer Language Courses

During the summer holiday 2020, we will be holding residential language courses based at King's Hall School.

Taught by qualified and experienced TEFL tutors, students will:

  • undertake 20 hours of formal teaching per week;
  • be able to communicate with people from other nationalities on a daily basis;
  • enjoy lessons and activities that will stretch their language skills;
  • be immersed in the heart of the British countryside.

  • “By living in an English environment, students experience a full immersion. This is what makes the course so effective.”

Formal teaching classes take place in the mornings, Monday to Friday.

Students are encouraged to communicate through writing and speech to improve their grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Classes are formal but fun, thereby improving the student’s knowledge and confidence.

Throughout the two-week course, students are encouraged to assemble a personal portfolio of their learning. With background information on the places they will visit, the students can record their experiences of the course, and refeclt on how their English has developed and improved over the two weeks. The portfolio is theirs to take home.
