Academic English

Formal teaching classes take place from Monday to Friday morning, totalling 20 hours per week.

Students are encouraged to communicate through writing and speech to improve their grammar, vocabulary and pronunciation. Classes are formal but fun, thereby improving the student’s knowledge and confidence.

Throughout the two-week course, students are encouraged to assemble a personal portfolio of their learning. This is to give the students background information on the sites they will be visiting and for them to record their experiences of the course, and how their English has developed and improved over the two weeks. The portfolio is theirs to take home.

Excursions

Excursions

On Wednesday afternoons, Saturdays and Sundays, students will visit and take part in activities in places of historical and cultural interest including Bristol, Bath, Glastonbury and Wells. The excursions incorporate a teacher-led activity, followed by some free time to explore the city and do some shopping.
