Education and Pastoral

After studying history at the University of Durham, Linda embarked on a career as a teacher, as well as caring for her four children, who were all educated at King’s. She worked across a number of schools that included both King’s College and King’s Hall – the latter she joined after a year in Australia, and held the position of Head of Pre-Prep for 14 years, introducing the ever-popular Forest School.

Keen to return to a more hands-on role, Linda became the Assistant Head of the Lower School at Manor House in Honiton. As well as her post of responsibility she had a Year 2 class and taught music in the Lower School. She completed her own training as a Forest School Leader and introduced sessions for the whole school.

Linda completed her teaching career at Wellington Prep, where she was the Deputy Head until she retired in 2015.

Among her interests are her family, volunteering for the Somerset Wildlife Trust and Cinnamon Trust, bird watching, gardening, running and cycling. Linda has taken part in a number of novice triathlons and long distance events.
