Mr CJ Albery
BMus, Exeter University, Deputy Head (Co-Curricular) and Director of Music
Colin Albery was born and raised in Reading but since reading music at Exeter University in the early 80s has stayed firmly in the West Country. His first appointment as Head of Strings enabled him to continue his musical links with the area and he played violin for many years in the South West Mozart Players as well as indulging in his other passion as a jazz pianist in various big bands and smaller ensembles. He was appointed Head of Instrumental Music at King's College a few years later and has been Director of Music for the past seven years allowing him the opportunity to follow many musical paths including choral music, music technology and instrumental music in all its forms as well as playing the violin in Orchestra West and jazz piano in local bands. He teaches music technology and some GCSE and A level and also conducts various ensembles including the chapel choir, orchestra, big band, chamber choir, and also coaches the 3rd XI boys' hockey team.
