Stonar One Day Event

Holly Davis and Hattie Harrison represented King's College as individuals at this demanding event. Schools send teams from all over the country to compete at this prestigious One Day Event. India Knott from King's Hall School also rode.

Holly and her horse Willow did a very good dressage and a nice clear round in the show jumping arena. Unfortunately her horse just ran out of steam on the cross-country course and wisely Holly chose to retire and save the horse for the future. A very difficult decision and a very brave choice to make!

The second half of Hattie's dressage was a bit excitable so unfortunately she lost at least ten marks which was disappointing, but horses can be unpredictable! She then went on to do a double clear with just four time penalties cross-country.  Hattie came about 11th out of a section of 40 riders - very impressive for such a new partnership.

India did very well, riding a double clear and a good dressage, ending up fourth overall in the section which was fantastic.

Everyone had a fun day at Stonar even though it wasn't our day for lots of rosettes!
