Hockey v Richard Huish
The 1st XI played some excellent hockey to win against a strong Richard Huish side. Hattie Cunningham scored our first, but Huish began to play the ball around well, and were a constant threat to our goal, and despite some superb defending from Emma Clyde-Smith, Hatti Mason and Rebecca Doyle, we conceded twice. Kate Taylor had an excellent game on debut, and the match looked as though it would end in a draw, but in the dying seconds Issy Germain slotted home the winner, the final score 3-2.The 2nds started their new season with only two players remaining from last year in the squad, and this showed in the first ten minutes, when we lacked cohesion and conceded three goals. We then found our feet with Kate Webster and Megan Ameye working hard in defence, while Flora Webster and Amelia Evans were threatening up front, pressure which resulted in Charlotte Palmer finishing off a good move to open our scoring just before half-time. We dominated the second half, with Martha Gray scoring an outstanding goal with five minutes to go, the game ending 4-2.
The 3rds did not make the most of their opportunities, and had to settle for a draw. We had a huge amount of possession but could not make it count. Kitty McIntosh led the charge up front, but it was not to be our day; 1-1 the final score.
