Hockey v Wells Cathedral School

The 1st XI produced their best hockey of the season, playing with composure and moving the ball well. We were rewarded with goals from Tori Canning and Hattie Cunningham, Mel Palmer was outstanding in defence, and both Lousie Webber and Emma Clyde-Smith impressed. The 2nds dominated the first half of their game, but conceded a sloppy goal just before the interval. We stepped up two gears in the second half, and equalised with a well-struck shot by Holly Domellof, before Sarah Gardener pounded on the ball from short range to score the winner. The 3rds found the going tough on a muddy pitch, but battled hard for Amanda Bell to chip in a good goal from a rebound early in the second half. With only four minutes to go Wells managed an unexpected equaliser, but the win was secured by a well-struck Alice Clarkson goal in the final minute.

The Under 15s ran out 2-1 winners, while the Under 14s unfortunately let in a soft goal in the first five minutes. Our midfield then played some great hockey, but we didn't take our chances and found ourselves 3-0 down in the second half. However a superb fightback saw two good goals from Isabelle Germain and Michelle Pearn. Disappointing not to win - we must be more clinical in defence and attack. The Bs played well but lost narrowly 2-1.
