Outstanding GCSE results

Pupils at King’s were once again celebrating excellent GCSE results, as they continue to build on their strong base of achievement. An impressive 54% of papers were graded at A or A*, with just under half at A*. This is an 11% increase in top grades, and marks another significant year of achievement for King’s.

In six subjects over 50% of pupils achieved top grades (A*& A), including a stunning 42% A* rating for the French candidates. These results are even more creditable when you consider the broad spectrum of sporting and service activities that are also part of the normal curriculum at King’s.

Headmaster Chris Ramsey said: ‘These are outstanding results by any standards. There are some wonderful individual achievements but much more impressive is the real sense of a year group pulling together and supporting each other. There were some very happy faces at King’s on Thursday – and rightly so’.

The fact that one in six pupils achieved top grades in all their subjects reflects their level of commitment and dedication.
