Netball v Taunton School

After a quiet start by both teams, the 1st VII found themselves four goals up at ahlf-time. A dominant third quarter saw us pull away gradually, and our lead was manintained until the final whistle - player of the match was Issy Germain. The 2nds had a nailbiting 18-18 draw. Players of the match were Naomi Swale for her excellent use of space in the goal circle, and Tory Clark who read the game well, producing several well-placed passes into the circle. This was an excellent game against strong opposition - movement and passing skills in the team are much improved.

The 3rds were disappointed to go down narrowly, as they fought hard against a tall defence, especially when the scores were level at half-time. Excellent commitment from all the players made for a spirited game right to the last minute. The plucky 4ths had a momentous victory. Good teamwork and strong captaincy by Hatti Mason led to a fantastic 18-14 win.

The Under 15s started slowly, struggling to find their form until the final quarter, when they really took control of the game and proved themselves worthy winners. The Bs had a relatively easy game, excellent shooting by Flo Main and Charlotte Smyth keeping us well in the lead throughout. Katie Blowers worked hard in the centre third to keep the ball flowing, showing good teamwork with Alice Geraghty. The Cs played with great determination and enthusiasm. Flo Johnstone made some terrific interceptions, and the shooters made difficult shooting look easy.

The Under 14s played with spirit against a tall, well-organised team. Marking improved visibly and effort levels remained high, Sophia Collins particularly catching the eye. The Bs dominated their opposition, and set themselves a target of 25 goals for the match - a target they missed by just one! The s put in a great performance, dominating from the start. There was powerful defence by Emma Paull and Mimi Clark, while Ellie McLean provided excellent distribution into the circle.
