Football v Clifton
The 1st XI had a disastrous first half, conceding seven goals, four from corners. Thankfully we tightened up considerably in an even (and goalless) second half, or the result would have been a cricket score. The 2nds had a much closer match than the scoreline might suggest. After Clifton had taken early control over things and a 2-0 lead, Seb Worthington scored to make it 2-1 early in the second half. The result looked in the balance, but the home side finished with a flurry of late goals. The Under 15s enjoyed their first win in the Mercian League, a victory they achieved in great style, scoring two early goals to take a well-deserved lead. Clifton responded from the penalty spot, but by half-time we led 3-1, and we went on to dominate the second half, scoring two further goals, Johnny Parson ending with a hat-trick.
