Second Batten Lecture
How does the BBC film such amazing wildlife documentaries? Patrick Morris, BBC Producer, will deliver the second Batten Lecture at King's College, Taunton, on 26th February. He will offer a look behind the scenes at how the internationally acclaimed BBC Life series was made, and will talk about the purpose of wildlife programmes in surprising, engaging and informing the global audience on environmental issues. Mr Morris, who is a former pupil of King's, has had an illustrious career in the film industry and also lists the acclaimed Galapagos series and The British Isles – A Natural History amongst his credits.The Batten Lectures, named after the pioneering former Headmaster, James Batten, have a provocative, forward-looking theme. The Inaugural Batten Lecture in October 2009 was given by Caio Koch Weser, Vice-Chairman of Deutsche Bank Group, on the subject of economic recovery and environmental sustainability. The second lecture will continue the environmental theme and is likely to appeal to a wide audience. It promises to be a fascinating insight into the world of wildlife documentaries. The talk will be enriched with some stunning photography.
