South West Championships
Following their success in the county championships last week, King's was well represented in the Somerset team contesting the South West Championships at Gloucester this weekend. In a highly competitive field of 70, Charlie MacLean came 3rd, after two weeks struggling to shake off a bout of flu. Tom Lawson too was just coming back from illness, and was a very creditable 4th Somerset runner home. Matt Peek suffered a heavy fall, but still managed to finish halfway up the field of 60 in his race. Harry Hudson too had a nasty fall, but came home 11th in another very strong field.Among the intermediate girls, Mhairi Hall, Olivia Taylor and Alice Round all ran well. Mhairi came 22nd, followed closely by Olivia in 23rd place, and both have been selected for the English Schools National Championships, taking place in Liverpool this year. They'll be joined by all four of the boys who ran so well in Gloucester.
