Netball v Taunton School

The 1st VII had an extremely close game, with only one or two goals in it in every quarter. Gradually we managed to break through their zoning patterns of play, and eventually our sheer determination clinched us victory by two goals. The 2nds played really well, dominating from the outset. Holly Domellof shot really well in an impressive ten-goal win. A slow start by the 3rds made it a close game until half-time, with both teams giving away plenty of possession. We upped the tempo of the game in the third quarter, and created a seven-goal lead, securing victory with several good interceptions, particularly from skipper Millie Harrison, and completing an impressive senior whitewash over strong opposition.

The Under 15s played their best netball of the term so far, and fought hard throughout the match. Defence was excellent, and there was strong centre-court play, with some outstanding movement and shooting by Lucy Chapman. Decimated by injuries, the Bs nevertheless put up a good fight. Harriet Mason performed strongly, and special thanks go to Olivia Farmer and Jodie Keily who were called up at the last moment to represent the school.

After a slow start the Under 14s improved markedly. There was some excellent marking and much better passing, a really good team effort. The Bs had a comfortable win, playing well and with lots of energy. Players of the match were Lucy Sharp and Hebe Mills.
