Netball v Queen's
In a very close, competitive game, the 1st VII gradually took control and were then able to maintain their lead. Tori Canning had a superb game, and was well supported by all the attacking players. Interceptions were made by all, and Elle Marr led by example throughout. The 2nds had a physically demanding game that tested their stamina. After a very hard first quarter, Holly Domellof's shooting kept us ahead right through to the end of the game. The 3rds had the closest of games, with some excellent shooting and good movement in mid-court. We were unlucky not to get at least a draw out of the game, and lost by just the one goal. The 4ths fell behind early on, but played with great spirit and determination. Their never-say-die attitude impressed many who were watching.
The Under 15s had a close, exciting match, defending well and shooting effectively. In the end perhaps a 16-16 draw was a fair result. The Bs had very nearly as close a game as the As, with the scores neck and neck throughout. There was some excellent shooting by Sinnie Kaorattana in a very pleasing performance in which many moves from practice sessions were put into place.
The Under 14s impressed particularly with the number of interceptions they managed, but wayward passing meant they lost the ball too easily. They played much better in the second half, when they took more time over their passing. The Bs had a great game. The whole team played well, and the teams were very well matched.
