Netball v Canford

The 1st VII fought an extremely close match, leading at the end of the third quarter. Unfortunately Canford were able to pull away, but there was some great shooting from Tori Canning, and strong defence from Emma Clyde-Smith. The 2nds found themselves trailing at half-time, but through a mixture of excellent defending by Alex Wynn and some excellent shooting by Holly Domellof and Rosie Main, we were able to claw our way back into the game, to earn a most satisfying draw. Missing key players, the 3rds were always playing catch-up, and failed to score enough points in the first half. We drew the second half, but couldn't quite close the gap - player of the match was Holly Matthews.

The Under 15s found themselves involved in a difficult match from the start, and we struggled to find our form despite some excellent play in defence. The Bs had a very tough, even match, with Canford taking a decisive early lead. We put in an excellent fight-back to cut the margin to two goals, with outstanding shooting by Lucinda Smyth and a terrific team effort.

The Under 14s found their best form of the term so far, and played some really good netball. In a very tight game there were excellent performances from all - the netball was fast and energetic. The Bs had a game won and lost in the shade, as all the goals scored came at one end, until the sun dropped behind the trees. There was a tremendous effort from all - player of the match was shared by Kate and Flora Webster.
