Netball v King's Bruton
In a fantastic game to watch, the 1st VII took time to adapt to the strong winds, and things were close for some time. However once we broke down Bruton's attacking play we constructed some tremendous passages of our own play to win by 16 goals, with spectacular interceptions for everyone. The 2nds dominated form the start in a terrific all-round team performance. The defence picked up many balls, and Rosie Main shot extremely well. The 3rds had a very one-sided game, leading from the outset. In an excellent team performance, Harriet Butterfield and Emily Baker really caught the eye - man of the match was Sophia Warby. The 4ths lost by the narrowest of margins, taking time to settle into the game. Our centre held the entire game together, and the shooters did extremely well.
The Under 15s led throughout the game, but frustratingly lost in the final quarter. We allowed Bruton back into the game, and paid the penalty. The Bs though dominated, with a very strong team performance. We were excellent in attack, with Lucinda Smyth shooting well, and a mention for Charlotte Parris, Charlotte Palmer and Lucy Sharp, who all played particularly well.
The Under 14s had a really good game, with a tremendous team effort. We took the first quarter and then kept up the pace - player of the match was Francesca Fender.
