Netball v Blundell's

The 1st VII had a game that could have gone either way, with both teams battling hard for a win. King's though played the most fantastic last quarter with shots by Tori Canning raining in from the edge of the circle, and this hard-fought win was an excellent way to end their season. The 2nds' victory was another good team effort, with the defence outstanding. Holly Domellof just couldn't miss with shots on goal, and Hattie Cunningham played really well too.

A dominant 3rd VII led from the start with some fine attacking play and superb shooting. The well-organised defence restricted the opposition's attacking options - player of the match was Harriet Butterfield for her shooting and passing. The 4ths enjoyed a well-deserved win, with Sarah Gardener player of the match. This is a much improved team - over the term Alex Taylor and Rebecca Potter have developed an excellent partnership in the circle, backed up by good mid-court and defensive play.

The Under 15s had an excellent game and dominated from the start. There were good performances by all, as we battled not just the opposition but the wind as well! The Bs trailed Blundell's throughout, until an excellent effort in the final quarter saw us edge in front at the final whistle. This was a particularly pleasing result, as we had many new and unfamiliar faces in the team.

The early lead taken by the Under 14s meant we were always on the front foot. Conditions were difficult, but particularly good defence made it difficult for the opposition to score. The Bs just lost out in a very close game, with both teams playing scrappy netball in the wind. Still, this was the only game we lost all afternoon!
