Hockey v Exeter School
It was a very frustrating game for the 1st XI - frustrating for players, coach and spectators alike. King's dominated the game from beginning to end, but failed to convert short corner and open-play chances. The 3rds recorded their first victory of the season, playing attractive, fast flowing hockey. Goalkeeper James Pope wasn't troubled until the final five minutes."Champagne hockey" said the Junior Colts' coach! We showed great character to come back after our midweek disappointment. There was a second hat-trick of the season for Dominic Bracher - other goalscorers were George Wayman (2), Sam Merriweather, Joe Watts and Jamie Grantham.
The Under 14s were involved in a real crowd-pleaser. King's were always on top, but kept allowing Exeter back into the game. Some great goals were scored - Tristan Marshall (2), James Walsh, Todd Barrett on debut, Omar Hamaoui and Rob Ellis all found the back of the net. After a strong start from the Bs, King's took the lead through a well-worked goal from James Jennings in the sixth minute, only for Exeter's Under 13 As to equalise just before half-time. A scrappy second half saw our defence do well to earn us a draw.
