Hockey v Clifton

A pacy Clifton side put pressure on the 1st XI's defence, with chances going begging at either end. Going two goals down made King's attack with vigour, and we pulled one back after a typical de Figueiredo wobble set up the chance for Will McKegney. The 2nds had a finely balanced game, with a good penalty corner converted by Will Everett. Clifton though took their chances, whereas we didn't. The 3rds led for quite a long period, but let it slip right at the end. Elliott Marchent finally got his name on the scoresheet.

With no game for the Senior Colts, the Bs overwhelmed their opposition. There were two goals each for Sam Turvill, George Lock, and Nick Akiwumi, with Ben Foll completing the scoring. The award for entertainment value would have to go to Sam Turvill's direct flick.

The Junior Colts put on an excellent game to watch, with Clifton taking an early lead, only for us to come back and lead at the interval 2-1. It was close at 3-2, but we sealed the match with goals for Jamie Grantham (2), and one each for William Walters, George Wayman and Dominic Bracher. The Bs won again in a close-fought, intense game. Man of the match was skipper Tom Sharp, and there were two good goals.

This was not the Under 14s' best performance, but there were key players missing. The Bs had a bitty game, conceding a soft goal early on. We equalised through James Dent, and James Duncan, James Jennings and New Akarapongpisak all attacked well.
