Hockey v Canford

It was 0-0 at half-time, with the 1st XI spending much of the first half grittily defending, and then going one down shortly after the interval. Ben de Figueiredo though beautifully set up a goal for James Scanlan, who then had to equalise again, this time from a well-executed short corner, securing a well-earned draw for an outstanding team performance. It was a good all-round effort by the 2nds against a strong Canford side. Will Smith's goal was well taken, and Charlie Close played well in defence. There was a much improved display by the 3rds, resolute in defence and unlucky in attack.

The Senior Colts put in the performance of the season. Harvey Morris was outstanding in goal, and Miles Lenygon also played superbly. The Bs enjoyed what was described as a cracking game, dominating the first half with goals from Luke Gavin and Ben Foll. The second half was a tight affair needing excellent defence from Alex's Creswick and Clarke - man of the match in the 2-0 win was Sam Turvill.

It was an excellent display by the Junior Colts against a highly-rated Canford side. Defence was tenacious, and goals flowed through William Walters, Taylor Buller, and a hat-trick for George Wayman. The Bs too secured a well-fought victory. Our first goal was a particularly fine effort from Nick Mason, and a great save by Nuno Akarapongpisak at the end ensured the win.

The Under 14s never really got going. We went behind twice, and although we kept the game close, we were always playing catch-up really. The Bs had a close game, going into the interval 0-0. We took the lead twice through Elliott Chambers on debut, but Canford scored three late goals to steal the game.
