Hockey v King's Bruton

Sluggish after the midweek win over Taunton School, the 1st XI had early opportunities, Charlie Marr scrambling in a short corner just before half-time. Bruton though scored quickly after the interval, and we were playing catch-up for the rest of the game. The 2nds had a hard-fought draw - a good goal by Harry Lang and outstanding goalkeeping by Harry Brimacombe. The 3rds won! An excellent team performance, with some stunning goalkeeping by Hikaru Ichikawa.

The Senior Colts won an evenly matched game, with excellent performances from Harry Canning and Richard Elliott. Overall, a good way to finish the season - Harvey Morris excelled in goal. The Bs had to endure a frustrating 2-2 draw, on top throughout but conceding two soft goals. Alex Clarke and Ben Foll scored the goals - we almost threw it away conceding a penalty stroke in the dying seconds, but it was brilliantly saved by Shane Scott.

The Junior Colts led 3-1 at half-time, but were outplayed in the first ten minutes of the second half. We clawed one back towards the end, but it was too little too late. The Bs had a convincing win, with linking play, especially up the right, particularly good. Goals came from Sam Vickery, Henry Close, David McNeill and Nick Mason.

The Under 14s took a while to settle, but gradually ground down the Bruton defence, Tristan Marshall scoring a reverse stick strike just before the interval. Goals in the second half from Omar Hamaoui and James Walsh sealed the win. Fielding a strong side, the Bs didn't play at their best to start, but still led 3-0 at half-time. There were five goals for man of the match Elliott Chambers, and a further two from Harry Heal.
