Football v Sherborne

The 1st XI dominated the first half, going into the interval 2-0 up with goals from Ed Nash and Matthew Butterfield. We conceded in the second half, but Ross Chadwick scored a final wonder goal to delight the supporters. The 2nds had an excellent first half, with Josh Brooksbank scoring a magnificent goal after just two minutes from the right-hand edge of the penalty box. The side then showed great determination to grind out a 2-2 draw, with Ben Jones named man of the match.

The 3rds started well, and soon went ahead with a goal from Ed Dawson, but just before the interval a couple of defensive lapses gave Sherborne a half-time 2-1 lead. A resolute second-half performance enabled King's to equalise with a superb header by Richard Dawson, leaving the 3rds unbeaten after four matches. There was another well-deserved victory for the Under 16s. The defence stood firm, and despite conceding two well-worked goals, the win never seemed in doubt. Joe Matthews scored another hat-trick, with Archie Berrow adding the fourth.
