County Championships

The Somerset Schools County Cross-Country Championships were held in glorious spring sunshine at Taunton Racecourse last week. And it was another highly successful afternoon for our own runners. In a field of 35 runners in the Intermediate girls race, Mhairi Hall came 5th, followed by Olivia Taylor in 6th place, with Alice Round finishing 10th. They were running for the Taunton Area team, which won three of the four races featuring King's runners.

In the Senior boys event, Matt Peek came 9th, Charlie MacLean came second in a field of 45 runners in the Intermediate boys race, with Tom Lawson not far behind in 4th place, and out of 53 Junior boys, Harry Hudson too came 2nd. All three girls, plus Harry, Charlie, Tom and Matt now go on to represent Somerset at the South West Championships in Gloucester this weekend.
