Alex wins prestigious competition
Seventeen year-old Alex Wynn has recently triumphed in the Taunton Young Musician of the Year Competition Final. Alex is a music scholar at King's, and sang five beautiful mezzo-soprano pieces, including songs by Handel and Vivaldi, that wowed the judges and beat off stiff competition from the five other finalists.Alex has performed both as a soloist and as part of the King’s choir, who last year won the BBC Songs of Praise Senior School Choir of the Year, in a host of performances across the country. This includes singing live at the Royal Albert Hall, Birmingham Symphony Hall, Wells Cathedral, the Royal Northern College of Music and Exeter Cathedral. Alex is of course thrilled with her new title, and plans to become a professional singer after her studies at King's.
